Care before curiosity
A compelling story never matters more than the person sharing it.
Our story / Born in Uyo. Open to possibility.
ExBeen began with a question: what if the stories we tell about our exes could change the way we show up next?
Where you've been,The reason we’re here
Relationship stories travel fast. We retell the last argument, dissect the final message and ask our friends to pick a side. But the quieter questions tend to stay with us. What did I overlook? What did I tolerate? What part did I play? What would I do differently?
That gap inspired ExBeen. A media company built around the idea that a past relationship can be more than a story about someone who hurt us. It can also help us understand ourselves.
We’re starting with audio because a voice can carry what a caption leaves out: hesitation, tenderness, the moment someone sees a familiar story differently. Our podcast will explore anonymous listener stories with care, curiosity and room for complexity.
People should be able to reflect without turning someone else into public entertainment. That means protecting identifying details, respecting boundaries and giving contributors a choice about what they share.
Our home is Uyo, Nigeria. Our starting point is the experience of young adults navigating love, expectations and becoming themselves. Our hope is to build a community that recognises emotional honesty as a strength.
We’re working towards a January 2027 launch. The first conversations are the beginning of a longer commitment: stories that leave us with more understanding, and people who feel a little less alone.

Different perspectives can exist. Nobody owes us access to theirs.
